RESCUING A WILD ANIMAL

  1. When a wild animal is cold, dehydrated, injured or ill, immediately call Animals in Distress hotline:367-1026.
  2. Do NOT give ANY type of food or hydration; it could kill the animal.           Although intentions are well-meaning, it is much easier to save the animal before innocent mistakes have been made.
  3. Even if your wild animal is well when you rescue, NEVER offer cow's milk or human infant formula.

RESCUING A BABY BIRD

  1. Immediately contact AIDA Hotline 367-1026 or Non-Raptor Bird Center338-0897
  2. Find a small cardboard box.  Line with a small towel
  3. Roll a 2nd towel into a doughnut, mimicking a baby bird nest                                          This will prevent it from flopping or rolling around during transport
  4. Following your call, take it to the AIDA Bird Center - 4650 N 36th, N of Hill Road
